Initial chat
We get together for a chat so you can decide if I am the right celebrant for you. We’ll talk about your wedding and I’ll answer any questions you have. If I haven’t already done so, I’ll give you my information kit. I’ll also ask if I can take your photo so I can be inspired by your happy faces if you ask me to write your wedding.

Legal documents
The key document called the Notice of Intended Marriage must be signed and witnessed no later than one month and a day before your wedding. When we sign these documents, I’ll need to see your birth certificates and, if applicable, divorce or death papers from a previous marriage.

There is also another document to sign before the wedding called the Declaration and I usually get folk to sign this at the same time we do the Notice. I send both of these documents to Births, Deaths & Marriages after the wedding.

Your draft ceremony
I will have your draft ceremony around 4 weeks before your wedding (I can have it to you earlier than that if you’d like). You are most welcome to make any changes you want when you receive the draft.

Rehearsal
You are, of course, most welcome to have a rehearsal.

Confirmation of final details
About a week before your wedding, I'll get in touch again to re-confirm all the key details.

On your wedding day
I arrive at your venue about an hour before your ceremony starts. This gives me plenty of time to set-up and make sure everything is just right. The ceremony really is the heart and soul of your wedding day and I take great pride in doing everything I can to make it a relaxed, enjoyable and meaningful experience for you and your guests.

Documents on the day
There are three documents to sign at the wedding: the marriage certificate that you keep; a marriage certificate that I send to Births, Deaths & Marriages; and the marriage register that all celebrants are required to keep.

Lodging your documents
As required by law, I lodge your documents within 10 days of your wedding (I usually do this online the next working day after your wedding).

Getting your feedback
After your wedding I will send you a reply-paid feedback card. It is important for me to make sure that I am actually providing the standard of service I am aiming to provide.
